As we go about our busy day, it’s sometimes difficult to take a few moments and be thankful and grateful for some of the personal freedoms that we take for granted. There’s no denying that we enjoy the lives we were able to because of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of our armed services. Their willingness to answer the call and defend our way of life is something we should always be grateful for, no matter what time of year or day it is. It’s easy to get swept up in the day-to-day hustle and bustle, which is why every November 11th, we recognize the gallantry and sacrifice of our veterans on Veterans Day.

Observe Veterans Day

Veterans Day is celebrated every November 11. On this day, we honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day. On Memorial Day, we honor those who have died while in service. Veterans Day is a day to celebrate those who are still with us.

Pets for Veterans Day

Pets for Veterans Day began with a dog named Bear. Bear was an adorable and sociable dog who knew how to interact with different veterans based on their individual needs. Whether Bear was quietly cuddling or politely playing, veterans took to Bear and asked his owner if they could take him home with them. Bear’s owner thought, “why is therapy one hour a week inside when it could be 24/7 at home?” And then pets for veterans began. October 21 is Pets for Veterans Day!
