Celebrate Military Kids Day: Honoring the Young Heroes of Our Nation
On April 15th, we join the nation in celebrating Military Kids Day, a special occasion dedicated to honoring the resilience, sacrifices, and contributions of the young heroes who stand behind our servicemen and servicewomen. At SRQ Vets, we recognize the vital role that military children play in supporting their families and serving our country, and we’re proud to show our appreciation for their courage and strength.
What is Military Kids Day?
Military Kids Day, also known as Purple Up! Day is a day of recognition for the children of military families. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge the unique challenges and experiences that military kids face, from frequent relocations to the emotional strain of having a parent deployed.
Why Purple?
Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it combines the colors of the Army (green), Navy (blue), Air Force (blue), Marine Corps (red), and Coast Guard (blue). Wearing purple on Military Kids Day is a way to show solidarity and support for military families and their children.
